Anders als kristalline Werkstoffe besitzen metallische Gl\u00e4ser eine amorphe Struktur, bei der die Atome ungeordnet, also ohne regelm\u00e4\u00dfiges Gittermuster, angeordnet sind.<\/p>\n<p>Die Herstellung solcher Metalle erfordert pr\u00e4zise Bedingungen: Nur wenige Legierungen wie Palladium\/Nickel\/Phosphor (PdNiP) mit Zus\u00e4tzen aus Eisen oder Kobalt sind geeignet. Dabei ist eine hohe Abk\u00fchlgeschwindigkeit entscheidend, damit sich keine Kristalle bilden. In dicken Werkst\u00fccken kann es jedoch aufgrund ungleichm\u00e4\u00dfiger Abk\u00fchlung zu Defekten wie Porosit\u00e4t oder Hohlr\u00e4umen kommen. Diese Defekte entstehen, weil \u00e4u\u00dfere Bereiche schneller erstarren als das Innere, wodurch im Kern oftmals nicht gen\u00fcgend fl\u00fcssiges Material verbleibt, um das Volumen vollst\u00e4ndig zu f\u00fcllen.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr Anwender ist es deshalb essenziell, diese inneren Strukturen zuverl\u00e4ssig zu pr\u00fcfen \u2013 idealerweise, ohne das Material zu besch\u00e4digen. Dabei wurden die Scaneinstellungen so optimiert, dass eine hohe Aufl\u00f6sung von etwa 5 Mikrometern (Voxelgr\u00f6\u00dfe) erreicht wurde.
